Nigerian-American Chioma Ubogagu scored the winner for Dallas Trinity FC to beat Carolina Ascent FC 2-1 to secure a place in the USL playoffs.
Enterprising striker Allie Thornton opened the scoring for the hosts on Saturday at Cotton Bowl Stadium in the 20th minute with a header off the cross from Tamara Bolt for her 13th goals scored to emerge as USL Super League highest goal scorer for the season.
Chioma Ubogagu scored the winning goal in the 54th minute for her fifth goal of the season.
Trinity now march into the USL Super League Semi-Finals on June 7, where they’ll take on second-seeded Tampa Bay Sun FC.
Deborah Abiodun was not listed for this game as she is away on international duty with the Super Falcons.
