Just fresh from being ranked 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or, Ademola Lookman still remains a name on the lips of many European clubs.
It would be recalled that in the summer transfer window, French giants Paris Saint German were reportedly in the race for the signature of the Super Eagles star.
Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who was also nominated for the Ballon d’Or Coach of the Year, has now said he hopes the 27-year-old Lookman will stay put at this club even though it would be a tough ask.
“Lookman tempted in the summer by PSG? No, it was not a good moment. And who knows, maybe certain hypotheses will recur, hopefully not in January,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport
“But in the meantime, now, it is only important that he is ‘inside’ the team.”
In May, ‘Mola’ fired an unforgettable hat-trick for Atalanta to win their first major honour, the UEFA Europa League.
