The National Sports Commission (NSC) will assist the NFF to get Arsenal sensational teenager Ethan Nwaneri to play for the Super Eagles.
The Guardian quoted NSC director-general Bukola Olopade as saying they will help in whatever way for Nwaneri to play for Nigeria and not England.
This is part of the policy of the NSC to ensure Nigerian-born athletes are no longer lost to other countries.
It is understood that Nwaneri is open to play for Nigeria.
Nwaneri, who will be 18 later this month, has hit the spotlight this season for Premier League title –chasing Arsenal.
He has scored three goals and made an assists in 17 appearances in the Premier League this season.
The exciting right winger, who could also play as a centre-forward or attacking midfielder, is also eligible to play for England and has featured for England at U16, U17 and U19 levels.
