Akor double gives Montpellier first win of season

Jerome Akor scored twice today to give Montpellier their first win in the new French Ligue 1 season and end a run of three losses.

Montpellier beat Auxerre 3-2.

The former Flying Eagles striker drew the home side level in the 65th minute with a header, before he fired the winner in the 75th minute after he was put through on goal.

He has now netted three goals in Ligue 1 this season

The home win lifted Montpellier out of the relegation zone.

They are now 15th on the table with four points from five matches.
