Jerome Akor won praise for his aerial power after he made his La Liga debut today when he came on late in a goalless draw at Getafe.
Coach García Pimienta praised the striker for dominating the game in the air despite the difficulties of the match.
“Akor has won aerial balls and has put the rival defence under pressure,” he remarked.
“It was not easy because the match was open and he has only had two training sessions with us, but we are very happy with him.”
It has been a most eventful week for the big striker.
He completed his transfer to Sevilla from Ligue 1 club Montpellier Wednesday, celebrated his birthday Thursday and the following day had his first training with the full squad.
The draw at Getafe maintained their 11th position on the table with 28 points from 22 matches.
In eight years he has made his way to the Spanish top flight after starting out in the Norwegian second division.
