Benin coach Gernot Rohr has admitted his team could not stop Super Eagles two-goal hero Ademola Lookman in a 2025 AFCON qualifier on Uyo.
Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman fired a brace for the Super Eagles to fly past the Cheetahs of Benin 3-0 in a Group D 2025 AFCON qualifying match Saturday.
Former Super Eagles coach Rohr acknowledged the superiority of Nigeria with special mention of Ademola Lookman.
“I am not surprised by the result as I know the talent and potential of this team,” a gracious Rohr said after the match.
“They played with confidence and flair, and Ademola Lookman was unstoppable.”
Rohr and his team will now hope to get their qualifying campaign back on track Tuesday in Abidjan against Libya.
Libya were held to a 1-1 draw by Rwanda in their opening Group D qualifier.
