He may not have played a game this season due to his transfer standoff with his Italian club, but both Super Eagles coach and captain said that Ademola Lookman is fired up for tomorrow’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle was again clear about the quality that Ademola Lookman brings.
“Can we do a list without the best player in Africa?,” he asked rhetorically.
“If he can play five, 10 minutes, 60 minutes, that’s my job (to decide).
“I can’t imagine a list without this guy. I am so confident about him.”
Captain William Ekong said Ademola Lookman has been very professional in training with the Super Eagles this week.
“From what I have seen, he’s even more motivated, consistently professional and he has worked hard in training,” he remarked.
Ekong further assured the Super Eagles will be at their best against Rwanda tomorrow.
“We’re all focused about the game,” he vowed.
“We will give our maximum, we will give our best to make them proud and be at the World Cup.
“We know how much we want to be at the World Cup.
“We will talk on the pitch tomorrow.”
