The NPFL Player of Week 29 is Samson Obi of Rivers United.
The experienced striker scored his second goal of the season, which proved to be the match winner for Rivers United at El Kanemi Warriors.
It was El Kanemi’s first home loss in 687 days as their last defeat was recorded when they fell 1-0 to Enyimba on April 30, 2023.
The away win ensured Rivers United stayed in touch with leaders Remo Stars as they are now eight points adrift with nine rounds of matches to the end of the season.
For 28-year-old striker Samson Obi, he was also the match winner for Rivers United at home against Niger Tornadoes the previous weekend.
Last season, he netted nine goals for Abia Warriors in the NPFL.
He has also featured for Enyimba as well as clubs in Israel and North Africa.
