Paul Onuachu scored what proved to be a consolation goal in a 2-1 home loss to Wolves for his club Southampton to stay rooted at the foot of the Premier League standings today.
Visiting Wolves led 2-0 before Onuachu came off the bench to pull a goal back for ‘The Saints’ on 75 minutes, when he crashed home a rebound.
It was the giant striker’s third Premier League goal of the season.
Southampton now look doomed for a prompt return to the second-tier English Championship as they are 17 points from safety with nine rounds of matches to the end of the season.
