South Africa promise comeback in World Cup qualifier against Flamingos

Ahead of her side’s second leg U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against the Flamingoes of Nigeria, South African U-17 Women’s national team coach Ntombifuthi Khumalo has expressed confidence in the possibility of her side turning the tie around in Nigeria.

With the Flamingos going 3-1 up away in Pretoria, it will definitely be an uphill task for the Bantwana, but coach Khumalo beleives it’s possible

“It is not going to be an easy game for us, since we have to climb the mountain after the loss at home. She told Ademola Victor TV.

“Although we travelled (from South Africa to Nigeria) and the girls (are not fully rested), we will see how it goes.

“The good thing is we don’t have any injuries and the girls are positive.

“Again, it is not going to be easy for us, especially being 3-1 down. We need to try our best to come back because the race is still on. It is up to us how to come stronger to the second leg.”

The game is set to go down at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne by 4pm today
