Hope rises for Super Eagles on Nwaneri after England snub

The Super Eagles still have a chance to cap Ethan Nwaneri ahead of England after new coach of The Three Lions Thomas Tuchel overlooked the Arsenal prodigy in his first call-ups.

To the surprise of many,  Arsenal wonder kid Nwaneri was left out of England matches against Albania and Latvia.

The forward, who will soon clock 18, has been in good form for The Gunners this season, stepping up in the abscence of main man Bukayo Saka.

In his breakout season, the young star has scored eight goals in all competitions, including Champions League goals against Girona and PSV Eindhoven.

Scant consolation by England is that he has been given his first ever call-up to the U21s after previously representing the Young Lions at U16, U17 and U19 levels.

There have also been reports of interests and attempts from the Nigerian Football Federation and the National Sports Commission (NSC) to convince this prodigy to play for the Super Eagles.

Family sources have said he will play for the country who hand him his first full international call-up.
