Win in Rwanda will be turning point for Super Eagles – Ahmed Musa

Nigeria’s most capped international Ahmed Musa has declared that victory for the Super Eagles in Rwanda on March 21 will be the turning point in the country’s campaign to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

The Super Eagles have failed to win their first four World Cup qualifiers and now languish in fifth place in Group C with three points from four matches.

However, Ahmed Musa has expressed full confidence the team under new coach Eric Chelle can turn around their fortunes beginning the tricky tie in Kigali against the Amavubi of Rwanda.

“The important game is Rwanda,” Ahmed Musa said after he led Kano Pillars to an NPFL clash at Kwara United today.

“If we can get the three points from that match it’s going to be a turning point for us. But it is not just a job for the Super Eagles alone.

“Every Nigerian must be involved because we need their support.”

Ahmed Musa admitted it will be a disaster should Nigeria fail to qualify for the biggest ever Mundial.

“The Super Eagles are in a very difficult situation right but we believe in ourselves that we can still scale through,” he maintained.

“Super Eagles cannot be absent from the 2026 World Cup.

“It is going to be a big disaster for Nigerian players not to be at the World Cup.”
