Super Eagles get another massive injury boost

The Super Eagles have been handed another huge injury boost after reports emerged that midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru could be back in action this week after an ankle injury.

Lazio insider Giulio Cardone shared an injury update on Dele-Bashiru’s that would be sweet music to the ears of Eric Chelle ahead of his first squad announcement as Super Eagles coach.

Dele-Bashiru, who joined Lazio last summer, suffered an ankle injury during a goalless draw with Venezia.

As a result, he has missed two crucial games, including the Coppa Italia fixture against Inter Milan and a Serie A clash against AC Milan.

His absence has raised concerns over his availability for Lazio’s UEFA Europa League clash against FC Viktoria Plzeň Thursday.

Providing an update on radiosei.it, Cardone expressed optimism about the midfielder’s recovery.

“From what they told us last night, Marusic should have a bruise on his right knee, there is hope that it is something superficial,” Cardone said.

“If that were the case, he would only be at risk for the Europa League match against Viktoria Plzeň.

“Castellanos has been doing differentiated training for a few days, be careful. It is a different story for Hysaj, who will return after the break. Dele-Bashiru could recover as early as Thursday.”
