It has been revealed that the relationship between Ademola Lookman and his coach at Atalanta, Gian Piero Gasperini, was tensed and it just needed something for it to explode as it has now done.
According to Alfredo Pedulla of SportItalia, the relationship between player and coach was troubled.
“The relationship between Gian Piero Gasperini and Ademola Lookman has been troubled in recent months, so we are certainly not surprised by the latest developments,” Pedulla reported.
He spoke of “a relationship of tolerance” that exploded at the first sign of provocation.
Pedulla further said Ademola Lookman is a popular target on the transfer market and so will not be short of suitors in the summer.
“Lookman had asked to leave, even after the attempt of PSG, given that Arsenal and – in the background – Liverpool – had materialized,” he said.
“But at the end of the season it will be goodbye, with or without Gasperini on the bench because Lookman had already made a certain choice.”
