Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle recalls Joe Aribo

Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo is in line for a recall to the Super Eagles, SCORENigeria has been told.

“He is highly rated by the Super Eagles coach (Eric Chelle) and he’s now in line to return to the team as he’s on the provisional squad for the World Cup qualifiers next month,” a top source informed SCORENigeria

Aribo, 28, made his Eagles debut in September 2019. He has two goals and has won 34 caps for Nigeria.

However, he last featured for the Super Eagles at the final of the delayed 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire, where he played the last four minutes.

This season, he has scored three goals in 24 appearances in the Premier League for Southampton.

He is versatile because besides being a central midfielder, he could also play as a defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder.
