Former African footballer of the Year Victor Ikpeba has said the Super Eagles first round group that has Tunisia, Tanzania and Uganda is a fair one and they should get out of it.
“I will take the Super Eagles group as against some of the other first round groups,” Ikpeba said in reaction to tonight’s draw for the tournament, which kicks off on December 21.
“It will be difficult because even the so-called small teams have made a lot of progress as we saw at the last AFCON.
“But we have what it takes to get out of the group.”
Ikpeba said new coach Eric Chelle will bring out the best in the Super Eagles.
“He’s a young coach and has a good knowledge of African football,” he said.
“He will get the best out of the Super Eagles.
“He will do a good job.”
Ikpeba won the 1994 AFCON with the Super Eagle in Tunisia.
