Will the festering rivalry between the Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana of South Africa continue at the 2025 AFCON?
Both teams could clash in the first round of the 2025 AFCON after they were drawn in separate pots.
Nigeria are among the top seeds in Pot 1, while South Africa are in Pot 2.
Both teams posted an enthralling 2023 AFCON semifinal that had to be settled by a penalty shootout in Bouake.
They are also locked in the qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup with South Africa among the front runners in Group C, while Nigeria are second from bottom after four rounds of matches.
Last June, the Super Eagles had to force Bafana Bafana to a 1-1 draw in Uyo in the World Cup qualifying series.
Both teams will clash again in September in South Africa in continuation of the World Cup qualifiers.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle accompanied by top NFF officials will be at tonight’s draw ceremony, which will begin at 7pm Nigerian time.
