New signing Philip Otele has said he will bring speed and an element of surprise in the attack of Swiss side FC Basel.
Striker Otele, 25, has joined FC Basel on loan from Dubai club Al-Wadha with option to make it a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
He said he is thrilled with the chance offered him by his new team.
“This is a great opportunity for me personally and I am very happy that I can join this club,” Otele said.
“With my style of play, I try to give the team an unpredictable element in attack. I am fast and versatile in attack.”
Basel sports director Daniel Stucki said they are happy to have signed an experienced striker.
“Philip Otele is a very explosive player who brings another interesting element to our offensive game with his physique,” he remarked.
“Thanks to his age, he has already gained a lot of experience and is a great alternative for us on the wing or in attack.
“We are very happy that this good opportunity has now presented itself and that we have been able to win him for FCB.”
