Super Eagles striker splashes Billion Naira on retirement home

At the ripe old age of 36, Anthony Nwakaeme, who won one cap for the Super Eagles in a 2018 World Cup qualifier in Algeria, is now putting final touches on his plans to retire.

Fans’ favourite Nwakaeme is pushing to return to action for Trabzonspor on his return from a short stint in Saudi Arabia.

He has yet to score on his second coming, which earned him a huge signing-on fee of over a Million Euros.

It is therefore logical that the Turkey-based striker is preparing to soon hang up his boots and in this regard, he has bought himself a dream home in Victoria Garden City (VGC) Lagos, which houses the high and mighty.

The property is estimated to cost between 850 Million and a Billion Naira as it is smack on the premium waterfront part of VGC, where some of Nigeria’s richest and most powerful men call home.

“He has bought himself a palace,” a source revealed.

It is a stand-alone luxury duplex complete with private swimming pool, contemporary designs, staff quarters and direct view to the waterfront.

The average cost of a property in VGC now is around 400 Million Naira for a standard detached duplex.

VGC is now a more popular destination for the Big Boys and Girls of Lagos than Banana Island, which despite its expensive price tags has been prone to flooding.

The estate has long been a home as well as an investment destination for a long list of past and present Super Eagles stars that reads like a Hall of Fame – Obafemi Martins, Joseph Yobo, Julius Aghahowa, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Patrick Ovie, Peter Olayinka and Imoh Ezekiel.
