Flying Eagles striker praised for playing again after 15 months out

Former Flying Eagles striker Suleiman Abdullahi has earned special praise after he played a game again for Swedish club IFK Goteborg after 15 months due to injury problems.

‘Daddy’ was an 83rd minute sub and was even involved in the equaliser for Goteborg against AIK.

He last played an official game August 2023.

Sebastian Ohlsson scored the equaliser and thereafter acknowledged the contribution of former Nigeria youth international striker.

“He screened the ball well and it was fun to see him back on the pitch,” Ohlsson told Goteborgs-Porten.

“If he stays healthy and continues, his elite qualities are evident.”

He said he has seen such qualities in training and “there is something there”.

Abdullahi was signed as a free agent from Bundesliga club Union Berlin in the summer of 2022.
