Flying Eagles forward Bidemi Amole shooting to the top

WAFU B defending champions the Flying Eagles of Nigeria will hope that exciting forward Bidemi Amole will live up to the high expectations in Togo.

The 17-year-old left winger from Real Sapphire Lagos (the academy that sourced Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface) is without doubt the brightest star of the Flying Eagles at this year’s U20 AFCON qualifying tournament.

“He is an exceptional talent,” remarked former national team scout Hassan Abdallah, who closely monitored the team’s training camp in Abuja.

“If only he can produce 50% of what he is capable of, the Flying Eagles will go all the way,” added a team official.

He is a technically gifted forward with a good dribble and balance, he is armed with a powerful shot and also knows his way to goal.

Bidemi Amole – Pocket-sized battleship

He was one of the standout stars when debutants Sporting Lagos won the Gothia Cup in Sweden in July.

He fired a hat-trick in the all-Nigerian semifinal against Beyond Limits Academy.

Altogether, he netted five goals at the invitational tournament.

In the buildup to the Gothia Cup, the team trained in Denmark with sister club Aarhus Fremad, who were happy to feature Bidemi in a friendly against Hobro IK.

In the Flying Eagles test game in Ikenne, this pock-sized battleship scored one of the goals in a hard-fought 2-1 win over Grass Runners.
