The Super Eagles chartered aircraft has finally departed Libya and is now on its way back to Nigeria after hellish 24 hours.
The team will first fly to Kano, before making their way to Abuja with a final stop in Lagos, a member of the delegation informed SCORENigeria
Their departure followed serious pressure on the Libyan authorities to clear the Super Eagles plane to depart and sell aviation fuel to it.
Despite pressure by CAF, the Super Eagles will not play tomorrow’s 2025 AFCON qualifier against home team Libya in Benina after the hell they were put through at the Al-Abraq Airport overnight.
Nigeria lead Group D with seven points from three matches, while Libya are bottom with a point and with a very remote chance of qualifying for next year’s AFCON to be hosted by Morocco.
