HALFTIME: Super Eagles 0 Libya 0

As expected, the first half was the Super Eagles against the Libyan goalkeeper and his defence as the home team went all out for goals from the onset.

The North Africans played an ultra-defensive formation of 4-5-1 to prove they will be happy to go home with a draw today.

As early as the 10th minute, Alex Iwobi was denied by the goalkeeper as the Super Eagles took the game to the visitors.

In the 22nd minute, Ademola Lookman’s low cross from the left was superbly cut off by the outstanding Libyan shot stopper.

Nigeria continued to press for the go-ahead goal with the goalkeeper again standing them and goal in the 26th minute, when he stopped another effort, but the rebound inside the box was blasted wide by captain William Ekong.

Iwobi was again denied by the agile Libyan goalkeeper in the 39th minute, when his shot from inside the box was kept out.
