High praise for Onyedika despite heavy home loss in Champions League

Belgian champions Club Brugge suffered a humiliating 3-0 home loss to Borussia Dortmund in a UEFA Champions League clash, but Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika still earned some praise.

Voetbalprimeur rated Onyedika Man of the Match with the highest score of 8/10.

“By far the best player of Club Brugge and actually also the best man on the pitch. Was there at many moments and also set up the attacks of Club Brugge,” the publication rated.

Club Brugge fans also took to social media to salute the good things Onyedika showed against Dortmund.

“He’s just too good for the Jupiler Pro League. What a footballer!,” @stefanie_s posted on X

“Onyedika is earning points in Europe,” added an impressed @sietobie

The Super Eagles midfielder pushed for a transfer to Galatasaray before Deadline Day, but the Turkish champions could not meet the valuation of the player by Club Brugge.

The Belgian champions will face Sturm Graz of Austria on October 2 in continuation of the Champions League.
