One-cap Super Eagles striker Josh Maja is now the leading scorer in the English Championship with five goals and an assist.
Maja opened scoring in a 3-0 win at Portsmouth over the weekend for his fifth goal in as many games.
The former Bordeaux striker has already put behind him a most forgettable past season, which was marred by injury.
He was nominated for the Championship Player of the Month for September.
His club West Bromwich Albion are also top of the standings with 13 points from five matches.
