Caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has said the Super Eagles have the quality to beat any team.
Eguavoen led the Super Eagles to beat Benin 3-0 in Uyo Saturday to open their 2025 AFCON qualifying campaign on a resounding note.
“We have the quality to beat any team, we have the potentials,” he declared after the home win.
“When much is expected that’s when we get the performance.”
Benin coach Gernot Rohr was also forthright about the quality of the Super Eagles.
“We have to be honest, the quality of Nigeria is higher than us,” Rohr said.
Eguavoen further admitted he was surprised the opposition that the Cheetahs of Benin provided in Uyo.
“Benin are very good team, they surprised me, they came with a good game plan,” he remarked.
“I watched them against us in Abidjan and they were not as good as this (what they played in Uyo).”
