Former Bendel Insurance captain and goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has said he is excited to be rewarded with another call-up to the Super Eagles.
“I feel happy, it’s good to be home,” he said on arrival from his new base.
“Everyone wishes to be in the national team, but I feel very happy and humbled to be in camp and to see wonderful people.”.
As a result of his fantastic NPFL season where he got the Golden Glove with 18 clean sheets, Obasogie has now completed a move to Ethiopian side Fasil Ketema.
He said the NPFL needs to be supported.
“Everybody should continue supporting their teams, the NPFL is a great league, and we wish for a better league this season,” he remarked.
Obasogie now contends with fellow shot stoppers Stanley Nwabali and Maduka Okoye for a place in between the sticks for the Super Eagles 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.
