Pep No 2 Torrent ‘very, very close’ to be new Super Eagles coach

SCORENigeria can reveal that Domenec Torrent, the long-term right hand man of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, was set to be announced as the new Super Eagles coach.

However, talks between the highly-rated Spanish coach and the NFF broke down over his salary demand.

A source told SCORENigeria: “Yes, it is very true that Torrent was close to getting the job (as Super Eagles coach).”

However, this source will not comment on why the deal fell through.

Further checks by SCORENigeria showed that the expections of the coach were far in excess of what the NFF offered.

It is now increasingly likely that the NFF will have to settle for a local coach to lead the Super Eagles.
