The mum of one highlighted the accusations that she orchestrated the incident for promotional purposes.

“I was bashed for my sex video,” she said during the interview. “A lot of people think I was just trying to get sympathy. Even people with platforms were quite horrible and blamed me.”

Savage expressed disbelief over the public’s reaction, particularly the lack of empathy.

“I don’t know how they couldn’t see me as the victim in this,” she added. “They said I did it to be relevant. If I were doing that, I would’ve been intentional about it. I would have used better lighting, lingerie, and my facial expressions would have been on point.”

In a previous report, Tiwa Savage sparked a wave of conversation in the Nigerian entertainment scene after publicly questioning the recent “Big 3” narrative that has dominated the music industry.

In a recent interview, Tiwa Savage boldly asserted that it is time for the industry to reconsider who is considered one of Nigeria’s top talents, saying that Tems, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, deserves to be included in that select circle.

TheTalk.NG reports that the term ‘Big 3’ refers to the male trio Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid, who are considered Nigeria’s most dominant global musical exports.

However, Tiwa questioned the criteria used to identify the industry’s ‘Big 3’, claiming that the narrative ignores the remarkable achievements of prominent women in the Afrobeats genre.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, she questioned the restrictive branding of female vocalists and said that Tems deserves top-tier respect.

“Think about it, certain types of artists get paid more. So, they get the opportunity to spend more on influencers and radio play, so you are going to hear their music way more.

“Also, I feel like it is unfair to have a conversation about the Top 3 and not mention someone like Tems. Are you serious?” she asked.

Tiwa Savage replies to troll

Meanwhile, TheTalk.NG had earlier reported that Tiwa Savage responded to a troll who commented on her appearance in real life.

The netizen had dropped a comment on Instagram where he firmly stated that Tiwa Savage wasn’t as beautiful as she often appeared on social media.

Responding, Tiwa Savage, unfazed by the comment, noted that she is even prettier in real life. She averred that he is simply pained over his inability to meet her in person, adding that he would never get the opportunity.
