Chief Kanran’s Brother Opens Up on Real Cause of His Sudden Death: “He Was Not Sick”

The Nigerian movie industry was thrown into mourning after the sudden death of veteran actor, Chief Kanran.

The legendary actor died on August 15 at the age of 70.

Weeks later, his elder brother, Chief Yemi, has come forward to shed light on what truly happened.

Contrary to speculation that the late actor had been battling an illness, his brother made it clear that Chief Kanran was in good health before his passing.

Speaking with Feelfree News TV, Yemi revealed that the actor had even attended a church programme on the Friday before his death, where witnesses said he danced energetically.

Yemi recounted:

“He was not sick. The Friday preceding the day he died, he attended a church program, and I was told he danced so well. He had called me on a Thursday, and he said we would see the next day.”

Yemi explained that the devastating call came unexpectedly. Just a day after his brother promised to visit, the family was told that the actor had slumped.

He stated:

“It was that Friday that they called me to say that he had died. I now ask what happened. They told me that he slumped in the bathroom. Before they could get to the hospital, he had died.”

Femi Adebayo mourns Chief Kanran

Meanwhile, actor Femi Adebayo Salami paid tribute to the late Kanran Femi. He disclosed that he was still struggling to come to terms with the sudden passing of Chief Kanran.

Mourning the late actor, Femi described his death as overwhelming, as Chief Kanran had just completed his last acting performance on one of his projects.

Sharing pictures of the late Chief Kanran on his movie sets, Femi Adebayo wrote in a caption,

“Still struggling to come to terms with the sudden passing of Chief Segun Kehinde AkinRemi 💔 @chiefkanran This loss is particularly overwhelming, as he had only just concluded his last acting performance on one of my projects. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus, be with his family, and give them the strength to carry through this loss. Rest well, sir.”

US-based woman calls out Kanran

TheTalk.NG also reported that a US-based woman commented on Chief Kanran’s interview with Pastor Gabriel on social media.

Following the interview, a Nigerian woman based in America, Auto Bola, came online to call out the actor.

Auto Bola disclosed that it was not he first time Kanran would seek people’s help and support.
