Leo DaSilva Reacts to Scott Iguma’s Tribalism Take on Yorubas: “Na Greed Cause This Shading”

  • Ex-BBNaija Housemate Leo DaSilva stated that Yoruba elders are to blame for losing family lands to outsiders.
  • He was reacting to comments by Content Creator Scott Iguma claims Yorubas enabled Igbos to buy Lagos land.
  • The ex-BBNaija star insisted that greed within families has made the Yoruba community a laughing stock

Former Big Brother Naija star, Leo DaSilva, has reacted to the ongoing debate about Yoruba land sales and tribalism in Lagos.

His words came after social commentator Scott Iguma claimed, in a now viral video, that Yorubas have no moral right to complain about “invasion” by other tribes since they are the ones selling off their family lands.

According to Iguma, Yoruba elders and leaders are the true enablers.

He accused them of rushing to sell ancestral lands to Igbos and others, only to squander the proceeds on exotic cars and personal luxuries while the community gains nothing.

Writing on X, the reality star agreed with Iguma and went further to call out Yoruba elders, saying they have dragged the tribe into embarrassment.

He wrote:

“Lol this narrative of Yoruba elders selling family land to our Igbo people, that’s where I will always blame us Yoruba people. Everyone is now using it to make fun of us. Your parents, who are greedy and fighting their siblings for property they didn’t work for, caused this,” he wrote.

The reality TV star argued that Yorubas have themselves to blame for allowing outsiders to dominate land ownership in Lagos, stressing that greed and lack of foresight within families are the root of the problem.

Iguma had earlier pointed out that Igbos did not steal Lagos land. He claimed that they simply bought it.

He said Yorubas should direct their anger at their own elders, not outsiders.

He also advised that if Yorubas truly feel “invaded,” then their leaders should develop seaports and international airports in other states so that foreigners can do business in their regions without relying on Lagos.

“I’m Yoruba, however I’m kinda disgusted by this narrative of who sold land to who, as far as I’m concerned, any Nigerian can buy and build wherever they choose to within the 36 states of the federation”

@princejama_stated:

“That video was triggering. I know Scott was trying to make a valid point, but he should have stated his points without making it so offensive to the Yorubas.”

@richard_chingy shared:

“If Nigeria were supposed to be a country at first, no one would bring up the issue of Tribe it should’ve been one country. Have you heard anyone from America attacking another American for buying their lands.”
