Nigerian singer and record label owner Afeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, has sparked reactions on social media with his advice to football bettors, known in local parlance as football punters or bookies.
In a tweet via his official X handle on Sunday, September 14, Naira Marley warned football bettors to be cautious, as he believed the odds were stacked against them.
He also sent a message to Nigerians who considered betting as a source of income.
“Football bet no be work bro. Please stop before they finish you,” Naira Marley advised.
“You are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way,” he added in another tweet.
Naira Marley’s advice comes following the return of club football in Europe, with Manchester United losing 3-0 to Manchester City in the English Premier League.
