Big Brother Naija season 7 winner Phyna could not hold back the tears as heartbreaking scenes from her younger sister Ruth Otabor’s burial ceremony on Saturday, September 13, emerged on social media.
Recall that Ruth, 24, who passed away on August 31, 2025, after complications from a road accident involving a Dangote truck near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, was buried in Ikorodu, Ogun State.
An emotional video of Phyna at her sister’s graveside has now emerged.
The BBNaija reality star, dressed in black and dark shades, was visibly distressed as she fought back tears while relatives encouraged her to drop sand into her sister’s grave to bid a final goodbye.
A video from the funeral also captured Phyna’s swollen eyes as she sobbed in a car.
Another clip showed the grief and painful looks on people at Phyna’s sister’s burial.
TheTalk.NG recalls reporting that the impact of the accident crushed Phyna’s sister’s leg, and it was amputated. According to reports, the accident happened just six days after Ruth graduated from Auchi Polytechnic.

Phyna’s late sister to be immortalised
TheTalk.NG previously reported that the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) mourned Ruth Otabor.
NAPS, in a statement, disclosed it was working to provide support for Ruth’s family and to honour her legacy.
The student association also revealed Phyna’s late sister would be immortalised at Auchi Polytechnic.
