She criticized the increasing emphasis on physical appearance, makeup, and body enhancement surgeries, arguing that many modern actors prioritize glamour over dedication to their craft.

According to Akintola, the industry’s early days were marked by a genuine hunger to tell stories, but this has given way to a more superficial focus on looks and outward appearances.

The 52-year-old insisted she’s still open to marriage, even at 70, if she meets the right man.

“This made me remember when I was in school. Studied Theatre arts and i tell you the passion and drive was so strong. I was so happy to graduate and finally enter the entertainment industry. But when I started getting some jobs in the showbiz, I realized its not as I expected it to be. The passion and drive is not there. As a Thespian, most people in the industry as not thespians so the training is not there. Its more of looks, how to look good…bbl like she said. Sad reality.”

“God bless you ma , I just feel we still have lot of people that are still driven by passion just that they are been taken advantage of in this now and time … you have said it all it is by look and who can go into the other room 🤐 …… if you can’t they start bad mouthing you or even use mouth to black list you …. I experienced a producer telling another producer not to call me for job at the very starting point of building my career but i said to myself I won’t stop Appearing and I never stopped ……. You have said it all mama 😍.”

“That makeup part-l’ve seen it firsthand as a director, and it made me stop and rethink: what does it even mean to call yourself an actor anymore? Somewhere along the way, they’ve lost the essence of it. A person who’s supposed to a cancer patient, says she needs makeup on his face as well as nail polish 💅.”

@joycegoke said:

“Look will fade no matter what you do”

@taiwoangel said:

“🔥🔥🔥🔥it wasn’t abt food, but nw all the new generation actors can strike a set if they don’t get food quickly 😂😂.”
