Polish club Gornik Zabrze have ended their chase of Philip Azango.
The 28-year-old winger from Nigeria was proposed by Michal Gašparík to join Górnik Zabrze.
Azango has been with Spartak Trnava for two seasons, recording 18 goals and 10 assists in 81 matches.
Despite Górnik’s interest, the transfer did not occur because Azango was not available for free, and Górnik’s philosophy requires a player to have resale potential if a fee is paid.
Azango, at 28, did not meet this criterion. His contract with Spartak Trnava runs until June 30, 2027, and his value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €375k.
