5 Flying Eagles to watch at U20 AFCON tourney

SCORENigeria picks five players who are set to shine at the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifying tournament, which kicks off tomorrow in Lome, Togo.

5.Kenneth Igboke

An attacking leftback from NPFL champions Enugu Rangers who has already earned a first call-up to the Super Eagles in June. He is fast, technically good, loves to join the attack and has the experience of playing at a top level.

4.Kparobo Arierhi

Highly promising centre forward who has been capped by the Golden Eaglets and has already shone at two international tournaments, the Viareggio in Italy and Gothia Cup in Sweden. ‘KP’ is a complete striker who knows his way to goal, but this AFCON qualifiers will test his physical capacity as his bigger markers will try to bully him.

3.Nasiru Salihu

He is the playmaker of this team. He enjoys the full confidence of coach Aliyu Zubairu, who is also his coach at NPFL outfit El Kanemi Warriors. He is a key member of this class of Flying Eagles who will dictate how they play in Togo. He shone when El Kanemi outclassed Abia Warriors to win the Federation Cup earlier this year.

2.Charles Agada

The bulky, powerfully-built striker has already signed a pre-contract with English Championship club QPR after flirting with clubs in Spain and Switzerland. The Golden Eaglets striker Class of 2023 is a real force of nature and his all-action style will suit this physically demanding sub-regional competition. He only recently overcame a serious injury scare. Hopefully, he will be more clinical in front of goal in Togo after he also featured at the Africa Games in Ghana this year.

Charles Agada – All-action Flying Eagles striker

1.Bidemi Amole

He is an exceptional winger who caught the eye at the Gothia Cup in Sweden with his goals and five-star displays for Sporting Lagos to make history as the first Nigerian team to win the invitational tournament. He is at home with the ball at his feet, has good speed and dribbling skills to wreck any team on his day. This is one forward who is destined for greatness.
